Arsenal ponder £42m move for Eredivisie forward

Arsenal are considering a £42million January bid for PSV forward Hirving Lozano, according to Mexican outlet Super Deportivo.
The Mexico striker only moved from Mexican side Pachuca to PSV this summer, but Arsenal and several other clubs have had him on their radar for some time.
Former chief scout Steve Rowley made several checks on the 22-year-old, who has scored 10 goals already this term, having moved to the Eredivisie last summer.
His form apparently caught the eye of Arsene Wenger, who may have to replace Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the near future.
Whether or not Arsenal’s new head of scouting Sven Mislintat has been watching Lozano remains to be seen, but the report, via the Daily Mirror claims Arsenal will have to pay over £40million to get him.
That’s considerably higher that the £30million, which was reported to be his release clause in October.
Sky Sports reported in June that Man City were ‘close’ to signing the player.
Manchester United, meanwhile, were linked with Lozano in the summer of 2016, and the player’s father in law even stated that the move to Old Trafford was “done”.
That transfer never materialised though, with the player going on to enjoy an impressive season in Mexico where he scored 18 goals and assisted a further seven in 30 appearances.
He then went on to sign for PSV for just £7million on a six-year deal in August.
Everton are also reported to be interested in the player, according to the Mexican source.
