‘Be on the bench anyway’: Arsenal fans react to Alexandre Lacazette injury

Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out of action with injury.

According to the club’s official website, Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks after having surgery on his knee and will now undergo rehabilitation.

The French international became the Gunners record signing in the summer, joining for £52 million before that fee was eclipsed by the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Many supporters, pundits and observers alike praised the deal and highlighted how Lacazette was the exact player Arsenal needed as they bid to regain their status as a top four club.

Unfortunately for both club and player, however, the former Lyon man has struggled for form during his debut season at the Emirates and has found the net just nine times in all competitions.

Aside from his lack of goals, Lacazette has seemingly struggled with the physicality of the Premier League and robust defenders have often gotten the better of him in the physical exchanges.
